Maybe this Grammy’s we can recognize a truly talented, humble musician. But when you write and record what can only be described as your soul, as Justin Vernon has, and then release it for the world to see, the only trait you must clearly possess is courage. And an unwavering faith in yourself and your message. I know Justin feels honored to merely be nominated, but I will only feel justice if he can finally receive a small portion of the recognition he deserves. In my mind, this is what music sounds like at it’s core, if your strip away decades of bells and whistles and capitalism.
